The Great Conjunction and Winter Solstice

Every twenty years the planets, Jupiter and Saturn, align. Today, December 21, 2020, they align once again. However, this time, the planets will be so close that they will appear to be one entity. The planets have not been this close in proximity for almost 400 years. Due to its timing and expected brightness, many have chosen to nickname the phenomenon as “The Christmas Star.” However, “The Great Conjunction” is what it is known by. It is given this name because Jupiter and Saturn will be in conjunction or in alignment. The “great” adjective is added to signify the rarity and brilliance of the event.

Astrologically speaking, Jupiter represents generosity and fun times.  Saturn is all about playing it safe and having guidelines. As the planets line up, they pretty much create a neutrality. This leaves the sign that they are aligning in to signify what the astrological focus will be. Jupiter and Saturn’s conjunction is occurring in the air sign Aquarius. Aquarius represents social change and humanitarian efforts. So, it is believed that The Great Conjunction will be ushering in a time where people will be focusing on how they can make more of a positive social impact.

This amazing astrological and astronomical event happens to be occurring on Winter Solstice. Winter Solstice occurs on the day with the shortest amount of daylight and longest night or time of darkness. This is a wonderful time to rest, like the sun is perceived to be resting. Reflect inwardly in your stillness and release all that is not serving you. Focus on the changes you would like to bring to light with the sun as it begins to reveal itself more and more each day.

With these magically powerful events happening the same day, it is a good time to focus on your goals. Practice manifesting the change you wish to see in yourself and in the world. Set your goals and use the energy of this time to propel yourself toward success.
